An Exciting New Chapter for Chill Squirrel!

As many of you know, Jeff and I will soon be moving to be closer to family and passing the torch at Chill Squirrel. One of the hardest parts of this process has been finding the right person—someone who truly understands what makes this little mountain town and store so special. We are so excited to finally introduce Adrien Vanore as the new owner of Chill Squirrel!

Many of you already know Adrien. He’s a longtime Bailey local who has lived here nearly his entire life and has deep roots in this community. He has worked in retail for more than 20 years, served with the Cultural Council of Park County in volunteer leadership roles, supported River Canyon Gallery through events, displays, promotions, and community work, and is also a talented artist and maker in his own right, specializing in costuming and traditional hat making.

When we first approached Adrien to see if he was interested taking over the store, his reaction told us everything we needed to know. He shared that the opportunity gave him an even deeper sense of pride in Chill Squirrel and an immediate sense of responsibility for its future—not just as a business, but as a place that matters to the larger community.

And that’s important, because Adrien understands something we’ve always believed: Chill Squirrel is more than a gift shop. It’s a place where people come to find unique treasures, thoughtful gifts, weird and wonderful things, and—most importantly—a sense of connection and community.

We know there has naturally been some uncertainty around town about what new ownership might mean. Adrien wants you to know that the heart and spirit of Chill Squirrel will remain the same: to make shopping fun, welcoming, and full of unique discoveries. While the store will naturally evolve over time (as it always has), his goal is to preserve what people already love while listening closely to customers about what they want to see in the future.
